Which compilers and build settings must I use in order to successfully use the "Build and Analyze" command in Xcode with Clang Static Analyzer?

Question

It seems to work pretty randomly, sometimes I get it to work, but sometimes not - and until now I never wrote down the build configurations, settings and used compiler.

Which ones can I use for Clang Static Analyzer in Xcode? And are there special build settings I must set in order to make it work?
