iPhone 3G/4 - UIImage resize and preserve fill question

Hi,

I am using the resize and preserve aspect ratio code from here

but I am noticing an issue with left/right orientation. When you resize an image from the camera source (I tried on 3G and 4), and when the orientation is right or left, the images don't get resized properly (either partially black or cropped). Any insights into what is happening and how that can be corrected?
