As the title states, what are the best places to try and recruit users to try a new Eclipse plugin?

While this is a free plug-in, it is not open source, so threads on open-source tools don't apply. I'm also looking for Eclipse specific ideas, not general things like sourceforge / freshmeat / etc.

I've submitted a talk proposal to EclipseCon, but seeking other ideas.

You should declare your plugin in eclipse-specific plugin lists, such as:

Posting to relevant lists in general may be a good place to point the interest of your target group to your plugin. For example, if you built an incredible plugin which handles GIT in Eclipse, posting a message to the Kernel list and GIT list makes sense.

Somewhat obvious, but the good way to start promoting your work is blogging. It is easy enough to create blog on jroller.com or on blogspot.com where you can describe your product and show its benefits to your potential users. You will have to maintain blogging schedule and keep your readers interested and then can link your posts from javaworld.com, dzone.com and http://planeteclipse.org/planet/
