Ideas welcome how to create an application able to lock phone on a particular operator's cell, prevent cell reselection/handover, modify layer 3 "Measurement Report" messages which handset sends uplink towards base station (it is commont for GSM & UMTS).
Platforms: iPhone Symbian S60 3rd, 5th Android Windows Mobile
What I currently find the closest way to do this is in Windows Mobile. Any undocumented API, L2/L3 routines, direct execution by address etc. welcome. Prerequisite - "Normal" cellphone, e.g. firmware untouched. But if the application can change part or module of firmware to perform the task - it is also acceptable.
