How do you keep the passion for programming if you have done it for ages or achieved it all?

How do you rekindle your passion for IT in general, The load of information we're facing everyday is enourmous and keeping up with could be a full time job in itself. What is a passion could turn into a burden. Do you feel this way, did you have to cope with this situation.

I think the feeling of being overwhelmed by the breath of the programming industry is common for many, especially for those who have a desire to learn. The best course of action to take in light of this fact will differ depending on one's personal inclinations and aspirations.

My advise would be to consider the things that are most interesting to you (e.g. UI design, User Experience, Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Web, Desktop, etc.) along with the platform you find most fulfilling (C++, Java, .Net, Ruby, etc.) and focus your efforts in that area. If you are someone who finds fulfillment in mastering particular technologies/development paradigms then taking on too much may only serve to exacerbate feelings of not keeping on top of the industry.
