Hi,

While using the Sharepoint OOTB approval workflow, certain users in the domain are not recieving the Task assignment mail. However,if the same user's name is put into the CC column, the mail is triggered. This is happening with only very few users(have identified only 2 so far).Other users in the domain have been recieving mails without any problem.I have been struggling with this issue for quite some time. Please let me know how to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks in advance

Check that the users email address is correct in the SharePoint users list (click on their name in the Task List.

Is it the same domain as everyone else or are they an external addresses? Is its external addresses then could be some rule on the STMP server that stops relay to external addresses.

What permissions do these users have? The Alerts are security trimmed so if the users don't have view permissions on the list then the alerts won't be sent (but you can still assign people to tasks they don't have permission to view!).

And of course the wildcard - are they being caught by SPAM filters?

Hi Ryan, The e-mail address in sharepoint is the proper mail id and the users facing the issue are in the same domain as everyone else.Further, the users have contribute permissions on the list(also tried after giving the user Full Control) but nothing seems to work. The mail is not being caught in the SPAM filter as well
