I'm attempting to startup a xubuntu session remotely though 'ssh -X' and I'm able to execute startxfce4 to bring up the standard xfce4 session but when I log in locally there is a 'Xubuntu session' choice which looks different then xfce4. What is the correct command line statement to bring up the full xubuntu display?

A:

ssh -X forwards X-clients to your existing local X-server. It sounds like you want something like VNC, to have an entire remote session?

I'd rather not use VNC since the local X server works without issue. I can start most of the major Ubuntu GUIs (gnome-session, startkde, startxfce4) but can't seem to find the correct command to start up Xubuntu.
