What payment gateway should be incorporated to build an m-commerce iPhone Application?

I am exploring technologies to help incorporate a Payment gateway for an mobile commerce application on an iPhone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this solution.

This is not an answer to your question, but very relevant.

Apple will highly likely not allow a custom payment solution. In other words, they will reject your app. They want you to use their own in-app purchase infrastructure.

So, be very careful before you do this.
