OK so I have a web application (sharepoint based) that has a create email menu link - that opens up a draft email and populates the mail account to use and the from address to set. For me this works because I'm on DOMAIN_A and the mail account is also on DOMAIN_A.

Now recently they moved the majority of users over to DOMAIN_B. Now when the users click Send they get "this action can't be performed". I tried logging into the site as one of their domain users, but because I remote onto the server with my own account I think its using the windows credentials because it still works for me.

So it sort of seems like the users don't have Send As permissions on this mailbox - but how do I confirm if this is or is not the issue. Or is the issue that exchange (OWA) doesn't like DOMAIN_B trying to send mail from DOMAIN_A account? I'm running out of ideas to suggest.

What's also interesting is if DOMAIN_B user opens up the DOMAIN_A account inbox in a browser, they are then able to send an email from that user. So it only seems to be when this application lauches an OWA email with properties set on it. Though as far as I can tell its just opening up an outlook window.

I can see the draft messages in the domain_a account's draft folder.. they're just not being sent.

Any ideas appreciated :)

Is there any logging available for exchange? As it does appear to be an exchange issue.
