WMV not playing in IE 8 or Chrome

Question

Hello, I'm having trouble embedding a WMV file into a page for a client's site. Well, it plays in every browser except for IE 8 and Chrome. Apparently, the player shows the first frame, the desktop, or just black, but it never plays the movie. Here's the site:

http://centerwest.com/ (click on the link at the bottom right that says "timelapse video". it should open a pop-up window.)

This was the latest of several methods I've tried. Before this, I used the markup from A List Apart, as well as the markup from Jake Ludington.

Any idea why the movie is failing to play on those two browsers? Should I just give up and convert the movie to MPEG or Flash?
