Are there any good handwriting API's out there?

The only online open source one I'm aware of was put out by HP Labs India, called LipiTk. I think it's a mix of GPL/MIT but I haven't personally used it. Written in C++ iirc.
There's also several commercial companies (A2iA, IRIS, ABBYY, Novodynamics) that provide OCR software. I believe most if not all of these can be access programmatically via an API.
