I have been @ this for hours and keep comming around to dead ends. There as another article here and it was some help but no real answer that could help me out in my particular application given the depth of the answer. I want to use the "Trick" method that the above post (VIEW POST) but I am always getting the unauthorized error. Through other research I was able to discover that the phone simply needs the response AUTHORIZED in plain text, so I sought out a way to return this string on a webpage and then have the phones authentication URL point to that webpage. Long story short is that my phone's authentication URL is pointed to that page, but my page is never being hit when I make the web request to "http:// phoneIP /CGI/Execute". I work in a call center where we have 50 of these 7940 phones and it would be extremly beneficial for our reps to simply click a button on their computer to dial a number rather than having to push 10 buttons the phone. I for sure want to get this done with no extra hardware being added to the phone and I DO NOT want to switch the phones to SIP as our ISP is in control of the Cisco Call manager, I doubt they would be able to provide username and password information as I am sure any software they have was just purchased from another company.
