I uninstalled Google Chrome from my Windows XP machine and deleted registry entries using Revo Uninstaller. After that, whenever I do Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, I get an error "Windows cannot find '(null)'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search". I'd like to know what windows does to open up the Control Panel from the Start menu. Opening up the Control Panel using Start -> Run -> Control.exe doesn't throw up this error - so I'm guessing Windows does something more when opening it up via settings.
