How long did it take to get through the entire iPhone Developer Program Enrollment process (Activation code, etc)? Apple says it may take up to 24 hours for the Activation code to arrive in your inbox, but I have heard stories of people waiting for weeks. 24 hours has elapsed since the initiation of my own enrollment, much to my disenchantment. How long did it take for you?
Unless I'm mistaken, it did take a while to get accepted in the beta program, if you were accepted at all.
Now, the enrollment is pretty much instantaneous (it was for me anyway).
For the new 3.0 beta enrollment, it took five weeks between my sending in my application, and someone contacting me with next steps. Retarded.
EDIT: I did apply as an incorporated company, so I wouldn't depend on the answer above.

Weeks. If you are registering as a company it seems to speed up the process if you start faxing (faxing! Stone age tools, I say) required documentation for them and send emails asking the status of the process. At least that's the experience that we and some other iPhone dev companies have had.
You've waited over a year to join the iPhone Dev bandwagon, I don't think you should be disenchanted by a couple-day delay.
As others have mentioned, if you filed personally it should be quick. If you filed as a business, it could take weeks.
Don't hold your breath. Instead go buy a good book on Cocoa programming and start writing some functional specs for your apps.
Harassing the nice ladies from the developer program does accelerate the process, but do relax. It will be 2 months before you see a dime of money anyway.
Hello! I don’t have iPhone, but I'm talented illustrator and programmer. Can I write programmes with my pictures for iPhone in xcode for iOS4 and sale this on AppStore (without "iPhone Developer Program")?
i'm waiting for 2 weeks now with no sign of anything i'm even think that i didn't arrive.. while a friend developer have in in 33 hours no more ..that's totally unfair
