I just read another Stack Overflow post about the BUG from Bug Labs and I was wondering if anyone here has used it before?

I think it looks like a cool platform to develop on, but I'd like to see what other people think first.

A:

I have a BUG and all the modules that are currently sold for it.

It's lots of fun! If you're comfortable with writing Java, and using the Eclipse IDE, you'll have no problems using the BUG.

The #buglabs irc channel on freenode is friendly and helpful. Most of the buglabs people hang out there, and there's often interesting unofficial news floating around.

I've written some small bits of code for BUG, did you have any specific questions?

Well I liked how it appears to be very modular and was wondering how easy the API is to use. I'm very familiar with Java, but I've not looked at their API at all.Actually, I saw that they have an education program that gives free equipment and even scholarships assuming you're in school and can get a letter of recommendation, so I was thinking about applying for that...

Their API uses OSGi to export services from each hardware module. I'd suggest checking out some application source @ http://www.buglabs.net/applications
