I am trying to parse a date that looks like this:
2010-04-05T17:16:00Z
This is a valid date per http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3339.txt. The 'Z' literal "imply that UTC
is the preferred reference point for the specified time."
If I try to parse it using SimpleDateFormat and this pattern:
yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss
It will be parsed as a...
I'm using the following functions:
# The epoch used in the datetime API.
EPOCH = datetime.datetime.fromtimestamp(0)
def timedelta_to_seconds(delta):

seconds = abs(seconds)
return seconds

Hi folks,
I've got a date variable that looks like this:
Dim LogDate As Date = Date.Today.AddDays(-1)
the format comes out like: #4/5/2010#
then it goes into a SQL select query as a WHERE clause. When I debug, the query has changed this to '05/04/2010'. I want it to be in the format '04/05/2010' like it is when declared. Any id...
the output should process the first date as "day" and second as "night". I've been playing with this for a few hours now and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?
Edit
I assume that the problem is due to my date comparison implementation
Output:
$ python time_of_day.py
* should be day:
event date: 2010/4/6 16:00:59

I'm looking for a Java library to help parse user entered text that represents an 'appointment' for a calendar application. For instance:
Lunch with Mike at 11:30 on Tuesday
or
5pm Happy hour on Friday
I've found some promising leads like https://jchronic.dev.java.net/ and http://www.datejs.com/ which can parse dates - but I also n...
In the below thisIsAlwaysTrue should always be true.
DateTime d = DateTime.Now;
bool thisIsAlwaysTrue = d == d;
But does DateTime.Now work in such a way that isThisAlwaysTrue is guaranteed to be true? Or can the clock change between references to the Now property?
bool isThisAlwaysTrue = DateTime.Now == DateTime.Now;

I have a variable which is <type 'datetime.timedelta'> and I would like to compare it against certain values.
Lets say d produces this datetime.timedelta value 0:00:01.782000
I would like to compare it like this:
#if d is greater than 1 minute
if d>1:00:
print "elapsed time is greater than 1 minute"

I'm using c#, and if I do
DateTime.ParseExact("4/4/2010 4:20:00 PM", "M'/'d'/'yyyy H':'mm':'ss' 'tt", null)
The return value is always 4:20 AM -- what am I doing wrong with using tt?
Thanks!

I use the ddwrt:FormatDateTime function to format the output like yyyyMMdd.
inputs like 01/01/2010 work fine but when the day gets over the number 12 the output is an emtpy string.
ddwrt:FormatDate(string(@myDate), 1033, 'yyyyMMdd')
At first I thought it could be a language specific problem but even none of those combinations work:

That's pretty much it. I don't need high precision in the Paleolithic Era, but I would like to be able to represent these date without jumping through too many hoops.

Hi all,
i want to have a time stamp for logs on a Windows Mobile project. The accuracy must be in the range a hundred milliseconds at least.
However my call to DateTime.Now returns a DateTime object with the Millisecond property set to zero. Also the Ticks property is rounded accordingly.
How to get better time accuracy?
Remember, th...
I know that 10 years ago, typical clock precision equaled a system-tick, which was in the range of 10-30ms. Over the past years, precision was increased in multiple steps. Nowadays, there are ways to measure time intervals in actual nanoseconds. However, usual frameworks still return time with a precision of only around 15ms.
My questio...
Hello All,
I am using C# to send an email with an encrypted link. The encrypted portion of the link contains a time stamp that needs to be used to verify if the link is more than 48 hours old. How do I compare an old time to the current time and find out if the old time is more than 48 hours ago?
This is what I have now:

I have a milliseconds-since-local-epoch timestamp that I'd like to convert into a milliseconds-since-UTC-epoch timestamp. From a quick glance through the docs it looks like something like this would work:
int offset = TimeZone.getDefault().getRawOffset();
long newTime = oldTime - offset;
Is there a better way to do this?
