Hi,
I am looking for a way to get a twitter users userid via their username.
For example take http://twitter.com/AlySSa_miLAno (yes I know her twitter page off by heart lol) on the right hand side of the page is a link to her RSS feed:
feed://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/26642006.rss
In this context Alyssa's userid would be 2664...
Hi guys,
I was wondering if there's a way to "embed" a Vimeo video in an iPhone app.
For YouTube videos I'm using a webview containing the correct embed code for the YouTube video and the iPhone's native YouTube support will then transform the flash player into a YouTube button.
Is there a similar way to play Vimeo videos from my app...
I know how to use NSTimeZone to derive the offset for the current time in another time zone. NSDate always returns relative to GMT, so how do I derive a string with the proper time zone information? i.e. I take the current time where I am (in EST) and using NSTimeZone end up subtracting the 3 hours necessary to represent the time in PST....
I've been asked to edit some code for an app created in a previous iPhone SDK.
Whilst I'm aware the is deprecated in 3.0, I can't seem to get it working.
here is the code snippet I need to change, any suggestions?

Using the following code, the ctx is not correctly being created. It remains nil:
#import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h>
@implementation UIView(PDFWritingAdditions)

CGContextRef ctx = CGPDFContextCreateWithURL((CFURLRef)[NSURL URLWithString:path], &mediaBox, N...
On Init, I call:
[[UIApplication sharedApplication] setIdleTimerDisabled:YES];
My 3GS will never goto sleep while unplugged, but my 3G will. Any ideas? Rebooting will sometimes fix the issue, but it just crops up again.. Both phones have the latest OS.
I've even tried putting that on a 1sec NSTimer, still nothing. The screen will ...
// Make text white... and background blue
[myButton setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[myButton setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blueColor]];
Should that make a button with white text... and a blue background?
It doesn't.

Hi All,
Having a problem with NSURLConnection, if I create a NSURLConnection and call [connection connectionWithRequest] let it load a little then call [connection cancel] most of the time that works fine. However occasionally even after I call [connection cancel] the connection's delegate still gets called (which crashes the app). Goo...
Hi,
I am using one UIViewController as shown:

I am displaying an RSS feed in the UITableView (in RssViewController) depending on the segment selected on the UISegmentedControl.
My app crashes when I scroll the tableview...
I understand that NSNumber is immutable, but I still have the need to change it in my app. I use it because it's an object, and therefore usable with @property (if I could, I would use float or CGFloat in a heartbeat, but sadly, I can't).
Is there any way to just overwrite the old NSNumber instance? I'm trying this:
NSNumber *zero = [[...
I'm extending UIButton with generic functionality to change certain appearance attributes based on the displayed title.
In order to do this, I need to detect and respond to changes in the "state" property. This is so I make sure the appearance is adjusted properly if the user has set different titles for different states. I assumed I ...

As far as I can tell, I can only get the entire address book, but there is no way to know which (if any) contact is the contact information for the owner of the phone, i.e. the phone # of the phone itself.
Is there any way to accomplish this? Perhaps by triangulating some data the SDK makes available?

Hi all, is there a way to programmatically access the age restriction set in the parental controls on the iPhone/iPad/iPod? I'd like to disallow features if the age restriction is too low. I've been searching around, but maybe I'm not using the right search terms or something. Any help appreciated. Maybe it just doesn't work this way.

I'm having a memory problem related to UIImageView. After adding this view to my UIScrollView, if I try to release the UIImageView the application crashes. According to the stack trace, something is calling [UIImageView stopAnimating] after [UIImageView dealloc] is called. However, if I don't release the view the memory is never freed up...
I wanted to add a view to the bottom of my screen. The controller is a UITableViewController, how do I shrink the tableView and add a extra view at the bottom of the tableview?
I've tried setting the frame of self.tableView in different places (viewDidLoad, viewWillAppear etc) but nothing happens. The tableView is created by IB and not ...
I have a UIView which has about 8 different CALayer sublayers added to its layer.
If I modify the view's bounds (animated), then the view itself gets shrinked (I checked it with a backgroundColor), but the sublayers' size remains unchanged.
How to solve this?
I've just started googleing but haven't found any useful. Thanks in advance.

I have read a few questions about an app doing it through the info file but not a certain view.
I just need the interface to be set up to start in landscape view.
I managed to get near what I want with shouldAutoRotateToInterfaceOrientation:, but it only works after I rotate the view.
I am kinda new to the documentation on this so I m...
