I don't see this out characterized like this before - but if I have a program playing music/audio in my headphones (say my own iPhone application I can modify as I see fit) that has my mother's bank words of wisdom I play every morning, but I want to tell my daughter to do something, at that point I want to stop the audio (1) while I talk and (2) give her a few secs to come back. Now I do not care if the audio keeps going, I just do not want to hear it. As for my daughter. if the mic picks her up, I want the audio to stay muted as well - after a period of silence, the audio can continue.
1) is it possible to do this in a native iPhone program?
2) Is it possible to have a small program that does that and runs on a jailbroken phone irrespective of what other applications are running. If noise via the mic is detected it will kill the audio.
