Hi
I am using Flash Builder 4 to connect to a django web service that is using the djangosoap code. The django web service appears to be working correctly when tested with a soap client. However the flash builder 4 generated soap classes don't seem to send requests correctly.
I have a say_hello(name) method that takes one string parame...

Each user will have it's own instance of a python application located in /mnt/data/www/domains/[user_name] and there will be a vhost.map telling me which domain maps to each user's directory (the directory will have the same name as the user). What i d...

This is blowing my mind because it's probably an easy solution, but I can't figure out what could be causing this.
So I have a new dev box and am setting everything up. I installed virtualenv, created a new environment for my project under ~/.virtualenvs/projectname
Then, I cloned my project from github into my projects directory. Noth...
I'm very new to django, about a week into it.
I'm making a site where users enter stuff, then other users can vote on whether they like the stuff or not. I know it's not so novel, but it's a good project to learn a bunch of tools.
I have a many-to-many table for storing who likes or dislikes what. Before I render the page, I pull out a...
I've been working on a Django project using South to track and manage database schema changes. I'm starting a new Java project using Google Web Toolkit and wonder if there is an equivalent tool. For those who don't know, here's what South does:
Automatically recognize changes to my Python database models (add/delete columns, tables etc...
I've been working on a web application that is basically a CRUD application (Create, Read, Update, Delete). Recently, I've started working on what I'm calling an "approval workflow". Basically, a request is generated for a material and then sent for approval to a manager. Depending on what is requested, different people need to approve t...

I am farily new to the topic, but I am trying to combine both Django and Pyjamas. What would be the smart way to combine the two? I am not asking about communication, but rather about the logical part.
Should I just put all the Pyjamas generated JS in the base of the domain, say http://www.mysite.com/something and setup Django on a sub...

I'd like to have access to one my model field verbose_name.
I can get it by the field indice like this
model._meta._fields()[2].verbose_name
but I need to get it dynamically. Ideally it would be something like this
model._meta._fields()['location_x'].verbose_name
I've looked at a few things but I just can't find it.

Hi
I'm building an e-commerce website.
I have a Product and Order models.
It's possible that a customer order a product and then the admin change its price
or other fields before the customer actually get it.
A possible solution is to add a 'version' field to the Product model.
When the admin update a product field I'll add a timestamp...
After reading this: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/csrf/#how-to-use-it
I came to the conclusion that it is not valid to use this except for when you trust the person who is using the page which enlists it. Is this correct?
I guess I don't really understand when it's safe to use this because of this statement:

I'm trying to create a Django model that handles the following:
An Item can have several Names.
One of the Names for an Item is its primary Name, i.e. the Name displayed given an Item.

Hi,
how do I set the value of a field element after a form has been submitted but has failed validation? e.g.
if form.is_valid():
form.save()
else:
form.data['my_field'] = 'some different data'
I don't really want to put it in the view though and would rather have it as part of the form class.
Thanks
