I'm using very old version of Lotus' Screen cam to record UI manipulation for documentation.

What do you use for this purpose?

Camtasia or Ignite.

Camtasia is probably the most well known and most polished of the commercial products. It is an excellent product if you are prepared to pay. If you want free, Camstudio is pretty good. Or you can even do it with Windows Media Encoder which is also free.

Jing project is probably the best and most versatile. It does easy screen shots (with ability to edit them on the fly) and video (with ability to share them automatically to web or FTP site for enterprise use).

My runner up(s) are

Wink and Camstudio

Beside the above, I also know Free Screen Recorder and CamIt

I am using DemoCreator to do the screen recording and make the software tutorials. It is a good alternative of Lotus’ScreenCam.
