It has nothing to do with technicals, which is a good thing since most of us are good at it.
Instead, it focuses on time and work relationship management in a very clear ans pragmatic way. And we know how geeks suck at that things.

Linux Programming: A Beginner's Guide Has a bunch of useful sections for writing your own scripts. It covers bash, tcl/tk, gawk, perl, tcsh, gui programming with GTK and Qt.
