I am in a phase to move to a new house and was wondering what should the home office for programming looks like. If you have setup your home office for programming then please advise. Also, post your home programming office pictures so everyone can see your work environment.
I don't have a picture handy, but I can add one later if I remember.
My home office consists of a large wrap around desk with three widescreen 19" monitors. A nice comfy chair and a decent sound system hooked up to my laptops are also essential.
Lifehacker.com recently featured home office setups. Here's a few of my favorites:

i have a desk and chair on order; in the meantime, i'm using a laptop on a plastic crafting table and sitting on a dining room chair with no arms - in an unfinished basement
my butt hurts
ADDENDUM: the order was cancelled (discontinued!), and my wife reclaimed her crafting table and dining room chair. Since the basement (where my home office resides) is still in the process of being remodelled, I opted for a sturdy but servicable solution: a cheap, solid door on top of two filing cabinets.
Unfortunately, the desk surface is about 2 inches higher than most office chairs will rise, and the scratch-n-dent architects chair that I bought at a used-office-furniture store has a slight tilt in the seat (which is probably why it was only $20).
So my butt still hurts. Mostly on the left side.
ADDENDUM 2: due to additional remodeling, my door-on-filing-cabinets desk was replaced with a square piece of 3/4" plywood on top of two sawhorses. For about 6 months. Now my butt hurts and my legs are asleep.
ADDENDUM 3: remodeling finally completed, and my wife bought me a beautiful, sturdy wooden desk as an anniversary present. I bought a new office chair to celebrate. Then I wrote a check to pay for it all. But since I no longer have to go to the chiropractor every week to stay upright, I have recovered the cost of the desk and chair!
May be you can take a look at some pics of home offices here.
