Hi,

I would like to know if there is any php opensource solutions to create online manuals like the http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/, or do I have to write my own script to do that?

Edit: The intention for creating this online manual is for general public. I know I could put up a wiki for something like this, but I think wiki is a good supplement, but I would not consider it as the official for general user group.

Thanks.

Sphinx can do something similar.

Would you have anything that is php based to recommend? Thanks.

Nope. But I'm one of those elitists that believes that PHP should not be used from the command line, so take that as you will.

Generally, my intention is not for creating a user manual for technical users, but general user guide, so am not creating it from the command line, probably from a db and interface app. I could put up a wiki, but I think wiki is good for a good addon for quick tips, but it still doesn't look official with a wiki manual. However though Sphinx looks that it has some of the features like the vbulletin manual. I will try it out to see if that is really to my need. Thanks.

The last time I did this I used XSL similar to this: http://nwalsh.com/docs/tutorials/xsl/

What about phpDocumentor? Sample manuals styles are here: http://manual.phpdoc.org/.
