Good tutorial on wavelet compression?

Any web sites, books, etc, that have a good tutorial on wavelet compression? I'd be interested in two tracks... a heavyweight tutorial that plows through the math, and a "light" one that just hits some concepts and highlights.

Here's a short primer and an entire book, all by Eric J. Stollnitz, Tony D. DeRose, and David H. Salesin.

The primer is quite good. Part 1 covers wavelets in image compression (what I'm concerned with), and Part 2 covers their use in spline and surace editing.
