I'm not exactly sure if this is the best place for this topic but here goes..
I've reformatted my Android SD card (16GB) to HFS+ format, and pushed a Mac OS X 10.6 boot image (from a .dmg file) onto the card. I did this because I don't want to go out and buy a DL DVD-R to reinstall my operating system, and because it's a nice little experiment to test Android's limitations.
As it turns out (and no surprise here), Android can't handle the HFS+ file system. When it checks the SD card, it just thinks it's blank. And when I reboot my computer to the rEFIt boot menu, there is no option to boot from the USB drive. But I don't really want Android to read and process things from the file system. I want my iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo) to do that.
I'm thinking there must be a way for Android to force mount the SD card and allow my computer to read it's contents from the boot menu. So I'm hoping you guys can give me some insight into this, in the mean time I'll keep trying different things- I've just partitioned the SD card in two, one MS-DOS format, the other HFS+ to see what effect that will have.
