We are developing an app for a client who is currently in the process of creating their own Apple account.

The problem is they got started with the process late, and we need to submit the app ASAP for review.

Has anyone had any experience with changing the seller account after an app has been approved and is available in the App Store?

Thanks!

According to most reports, the only way to do this is to remove the app from the old account, and submit it under the new account as a new and different app. Ratings, reviews, saved settings/etc. and update-ability will not transfer, since they are tied to the app ID, and the app ID has to be a new and unique in the destination account.

At this time, there is no way to do this yourself. You can do what hotpaw2 suggested and resubmit or you can make a request to apple/the review team to have the app moved.

Have you made such a request yourself? In other words, are you speculating that it's possible for the review team to actually "move" the app, or do you have first hand knowledge?

I have not made a request myself. However, Apple has control over their app store. It is possible for them to make any change they want. I would imaging you have to have a legitimate reason for doing so.

Yes, Apple has control over their app store, but that doesn't really answer my question. Bottom line: if you're speculating, you should clearly state that you are, so future readers do not misinterpret your answer as a genuine possibility.

Well it is genuinely possible. Just because I have not personally done it, doesn't make it speculation. Aside from resubmitting the app under a new company name, they would have to appeal to Apple in a special request scenario. Apple can change or modify anything to do with they app store if they feel you have a good enough reason. Again, They have the power, it's their app store, every situation is different. You can make an appeal through iTunes Connect.
