We programmers know our way around the computer better than just about anyone. And we love automation and shortcuts.

What is your favorite time-saving trick, applicable to MS Windows.

List files in Date Modified order. Have Windows Xplorer default to that for all folders. I find that 95% of the time I'm working with folders that I've modified recently. Sorting them so those are first is a huge help.

Pressing Ctrl-C copies the message box for a copy-paste to report / mail issues.

That really saved me lots of time.

Many people just hit PrintScreen and mail JPG (or even BMP) files...

Great one! I use that too, but didnt think of it. It's a godsend for tech support. It's tough for users to understand why we need the EXACT error message (so we can google it, for starters!)
