Hi

What is the licensing situation with Small Business Server 2003 and allowing other people and companies to connect and use the services?

I also want to run Windows SharePoing Services (the free version) on there and allow access to this. Do I need to get additional licensing for this?

Kind Regards

A:

SBS comes with five Client Access Licenses (CALS), which can be make per-device or per-user, your choice. This link should tell you more than you ever wanted to know about SBS licensing.

Windows Sharepoint Services is for intranets only. If you are only using it in-house, you don't need additional licensing. If you want to build an internet-facing server you must license a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

You need a Windows Small Business Server 2003 License for each intranet.
