Hi,
I am trying to configure mod_jk to forward requests to my webapp running in tomcat. ( I read else where that mod_proxy_ajp is the way to go but want to get this figured out first). I am new to tomcat and mod_jk.
I try to access -- http://www.example.com/test/index.jsp
I get a 400 error in my apache logs after I configured mod_jk. ...
UPDATE: thanks to all the answer given, but they are all about the system load, and not the apache.
My goal is to understand, inside my php scripts (the templating ones), when apache have an high load and is prefearrable to fork some traffic on lighttpd, that is here just to the long-polling and to light the apache's load.
Hi guys, aft...
I noticed that in phpinfo under "apache2handler", it says:
Virtual Server Yes
What does that refer to? Does that mean that apache is on a virtual (i.e. not dedicated) host? What would be a case when it would say:
Virtual Server No
?
Thanks for any help with this.

Is there a limit to the number of simultaneous Ajax requests than can be launched toward an Apache server? For example, consider the following function to update div elements on a page (prototype JS):

//asynchronous : false is required for this to work properly

Hi all,
I have a project written with zend framework. I was using xampp for my webserver which uses apache 2.2. I decided to use apache 2.2 instead of xampp. I installed apache 2.2 and copied my project into htdocs folder of apache like I did with xampp. But when I enter my project URL into the browser, it doesn't show my index.php and i...
Normally what happens is that requests seem to back up, and apache begins to consume more and more memory and CPU, until eventually it runs out of RAM and then ALL apache processes die, leaving all visitors with no website.
This seems to be a common problem from people I speak to but I can't seem to find a solution!
Any help much appre...

My clients want to use 301 redirects to force the 'www' subdomain on their sites. So 'example.com/something' resolves to 'www.example.com/somthing' etc.
What I'm trying to do is simply add this to my vhost file:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
ServerName example.com
ServerAlias www.*
DocumentRoot /data/...
I have terrible problems with django responding differently to the same requests for no apparent reason.
Sometimes i refresh and I see an error, then I refresh and its gone, sometimes the template complains about a missing value then its fine again, again without explanation.
Sometimes it pulls the graphics from the production server, ...
I want to add several headers to all PHP output on my server. In a perfect world, I could just use Apache2s' mod_headers, but unfortunately I'm using WordPress "pretty permalinks", so my PHP files do not end in .php, thus I cannot use the FilesMatch directive. Changing the permalinks to include .php is not an option.
So is it possible t...
I had a server running on a windows xp machine using apache2 with php and mysql. I've recently upgraded to windows 7 and have been having trouble getting it to work. Apache works fine and php works, but I can't seem to get it to work with a php.ini file.

Codeigniter php framework URLs look like the above.
I'm surprised that apache maps this request to index.php at the server root. I expected it to interpret /index.php/abc/def as a file 'abc' in a directory /index.php/abc, and as a result a 404 Not Found (given that no such file exists).
Can anyone explain why index.php gets executed i...

I'd like to write an online SVN repository browser.
I've decided to implement it as an Apache module, wrapping around the command line client (for the time being).
As I'm getting started, I have the following code:

char buf[1025];

I have a PHP page that gets its content by making an HTTP request to another site on the same server, using file_get_contents. Both sites run in Apache 2 which calls PHP using suPHP (which is FastCGI, right?)
How significant is the overhead of this call? Does Apache do a lot of processing before sending a request to PHP?
An alternative...
Hello world!
I'm trying to grab video as the user "www-data" using the command below.
streamer -c /dev/video2 -f jpeg -o /dev/stdout
I have added the user to the group "video" which is the group that owns /dev/video0, /dev/video1 and /dev/video2. The interesting thing here is that it can grab the video from /dev/video0. But fails wit...
