I have a ListView that retrieves data from an SQL DB and I am editing its data with jQuery's ajax requests. It's working so far but I am unable to change the the lv.InsertItemPosition to None after the ajax request has been dealt with.
Is there anyway of doing this? Or even a workaround like having a button calling the jQuery function an...
At this point I'm stumped. The below embed code causes "Object Required" errors every time I refresh the page in Internet Explorer 8 (probably other versions of IE as well but I don't have them readily available for testing).
It works just fine in other browsers.
The oh so simple code:
<object width='425' height='344'>

Hello.
I was wondering how you use a javascript tag in HTML to create an Iframe.
I've see it around, for example the 'Share This' button that everyone wants in there site is a script tage that then turns it's self into an Iframe.
How do you do this. I would rather give the client a line of script as opposed to an Iframe tag (so I can ...
It seems, at the first glass, that we can use either of those. I'm wondering, however, when should we use one or the other, assuming a scenario where we can do the same thing with any of those two.
Thanks in advance,

I've found solutions for manipulating everything except what I need. Here's the scenario
Just like in GMail - main content is presented in an iframe. Clicking links on the main page targets the iframe. This works well, and seamless.
At this point if I click "Back" on the browser -- the iframe will go back. This is good because cache is...
[edit]: Figured out where it goes wrong. It has something to do with my Routing (note: im not using MVC but webforms).
Here's the little piece in my global.asax which causes it:
routes.Add(
"Home",
new Route("{PageIndex}", new p7r.Routing.HomeRouteHandler())
);
Now this is the route for the hom...

Hi,
today I've been working on loading dynamic javascript code (files). The solution I use is :
function loadScript(scriptUrl) {
var head = document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];
var script = document.createElement('script');
script.id = 'uploadScript';
script.type = 'text/javascript';

I came across following code
function currentSlideFromParams() {
var result;
if (result = window.location.hash.match(/#([0-9]+)/)) {
return result[result.length - 1] - 1;
}
}
It is clear that this code is written by a ruby developer. However what is ruby idiomatic is not necessarily JavaScript idiom. Secondly the code compla...
I'm attempting to determine the tile that the mouse is currently hovering over in an OpenLayers map. The code that currently is written - that uses a standard Hover handler and simply sends back the event - works in Chrome but fails in Firefox, because an SVG element comes in between the tile and the mouse. I'm sure that something simila...

I'm a bit confused about how you can or cannot make crossdomain ajax requests in addons for Firefox. Addons such as LastPass and Xmarks suggest you can do it, however when I try to google how you do it, everyone seem to say you cannot, unless the user has set a preference in the settings of Firefox. If crossdomain isn't possible, then ho...
Is just a function that executes after one other function that calls it, finishes?
Please I know (almost) nothing about programming, and I find it quite hard to find a proper newbie answer or explanation about what does this means.
Can I request a try from stackoverflow gurus? :)

All,
Using Ext JS, if you have a panel with a toolbar that has a menu with several items in it, how can you loop through all items within that menu to, say, remove the respective items icons (i.e. change setIconClass to '')?
Many thanks in advance for the response!

Google was nice enough to explain how to wrap C++ class methods with accessors that can be used from the V8 Javascript engine.
However, they don't mention how to determine the name of the JavaScript object that will have these accessor properties available.
How do I tell V8 Javascript what the name of the C++ class instance (from the s...

Recently a client was concerned that their SWF was "insecure" because the XML path was coming from Flashvars. This seems to me to be something that isn't really a concern as the SWF is only displaying images / text and a few button links. I can understand how someone could path to the swf and add a remote XML path in to add javascript to...
