Our projects are done in a Scrum way. However, I am always open to find solutions on how to be more efficient. I would like to have input on how you plan a project for creating a product that will be sold to company customers. I would like to keep this discussion quite open and not narrow anything, but of course it should include things such as "When do we need to release" and "How much money can we spend".
What we have done until now is to say that we need to release by a specific date, but we never did any budgeting when planning. The major thing is to release by a specific date. This has sometimes made the projects very "costy". Also, sometimes we have come close to a release and not been able to finish what we thought was vital for the release. This has therefor come in the next release. Somehow it feels like this would be solved in a better way if we did better planning. BUT, usually new ideas on what should be in the product is added during the project and could not have been predicted before starting.
