I'm not exactly sure which stackexchange site to post this on, so I'll throw it on here and see how it goes.

I recently graduated with a master's in computer science, and am looking to move onward towards a phd. What I am currently struggling with is what sort of program I'd like to go into. From what I understand, its something I should be passionate about...the problem is I'm still trying to figure that out. I understand that's something I need to come up with myself ;)

I've been seeing a lot of buzz around the net about computational physics. To me, this definitely seems like an interesting subject...I loved physics in high school and college, and am definitely interested in learning more.

The question I have really is twofold...I have not studied physics since my required course for my bachelor's degree. Would this be a hindrance to pursuing this field as a phd candidate? The second question would be decent schools (in your opinion) that offer programs like this. I know there are a lot of cross-discipline studies, but I'm kind of curious if there is a specific bracket of schools I should be looking into.

I'll mark this as a CW since it seems to be argumentative...but what I'd really like is some honest feedback about my two questions.
