Get yourself a vi-reference coffee-cup. Caffeine and vi! The most useful item ever.

pi
If you need a vi reference, you're not a true geek. ;-)

I wanted to buy my wife one of these but her company won't allow it. It's apparently a fire hazard. <sigh>

http://www.delcom-eng.com/products_USBTLamps.asp Enjoy ;-)We use one of their other lights for our build process (continuous integration), but I might get the traffic light and use it like your friend.
Stevo
oh the picture you've added is a bit different to the one from delcom...and probably cheaper...time for a google search :)
Stevo
In germany you can get one at www.pearl.de from "Xystec". Beside the traffic light it has a 4in1 USB 2 Hub, a voice recorder with speaker. And the best - tada: It costs only 9,99€
Peter
...finally I "had" to get one
Peter
The delcom ones can be switched via software. The others have a simple manual switch.
innaM
our QA team used one for a while to declare the state of the current build, in their opinion.

Not exactly an accessory, but I was happy to find it, a Cup<T> mug (think about it). Geeky enough to mention

johnc
Nice, where do I get one of these?
BenAlabaster
Don't know where the original was from (I got the idea from the 1st slide of a tech-ed presentation from Joel Pobar), but I ordered a couple from zazzle.com

In my case some odds and ends of old encryption hardware on the unused end of my desk/bench. Its funny how often it is noticed by the more technically aware visitors.

I actually rolled my own before I realized there was a preconfigured solution out there.

Why is a keyboard whose distinguishing feature is no letters on the keys so awesome?

@Out Into Space: Please hand in your geek-card when the stewardess next comes round. ;)

I got one and sent it back the same day. Keys stuck in down position, and couldn't make OS insensitive enough to not print multiple characters for every key press. also, the key spacing was really, really tight. for such a large keyboard, the keys are way too close together.

Sounds like a defective unit.

This would deffo discourage people at home from using my PC :D

I was surprised how quickly my family took to it. Disconcertingly so.

As a pen holder, I am using a cup shaped like a borg-cube that I bought years ago at the Star Trek experience in vegas. Since it's cubic, I can't really drink out of it, but it's a convenient enough for pens and of course, never topples over.

I have a force field. Kinda like the Staples Easy button, but plays the Imperial March. Keeps the boss at bay.

Also, a Comic Book Guy toy from Burgar King, a Mach 4, a couple Mpire figures, some random Star Wars figures I stole from the kids, and various pieces of swag.
