I have a WCF Service that uses a callback.
Using the "Configure Service Reference..." I can tell it to generate me async implementations.
The problem is it will also generate me an async callback which I do not want because I then have to implement it manually which is complicated.
Is there a way to just generate the asnyc client for ...
I'm building an FTP client from scratch and I've noticed that the response codes aren't immediate (which is no surprise). What would be a good approach for getting the corresponding code to a command?
Below is an example of the output of Filezilla server. The response code is the three digits near the end of each line.

I have a function
function do_something() {
// process
$this->load->view('some_view', $data);
exec('mv /path/to/folder1/*.mp3 /path/to/folder2/');
}
My intention is to move files after outputting the view. But apparently it is done before rendering the view. My question is, does $this->load->view(); have to be the final st...
I'm developing an Asynchronous Game Server using .Net Socket Asynchronous Model( BeginAccept/EndAccept...etc.)
The problem I'm facing is described like that:
When I have only one client connected, the server response time is very fast but once a second client connects, the server response time increases too much.
I've measured the time...
Hello - I have been stuck on this all weekend and failed miserably!
Please help me to claw back my sanity!!
Your challenge
For my first Silverlight application I thought it would be fun to use the World of Warcraft armoury to list the characters in my guild. This involves making an asyncronous from Silverlight (duh!) to the WoW armour...
Hi All,
I am using asp.net 3.5 and C#.
I have a blog site and I want that whenever user enter any comment, the suscriber related to that post will get the notification.
So what I am doing that I am sending mail at the same time as the comment is inserted into the table, which sometimes take time because of the quantity of user.
Is thei...
I'll start on my previous problem:
I was using WebClient.DownloadData to download binary data.
But, in some cases, the download was too long (not the request-response, mostly because of the streaming).
You can read about this problem here.
So, as a workaround, I started using the WebClient.DownloadDataAsync:
try
{

I have a page with a silverlight object. It attempts to retrieve XML from another (external cross domain) page. But I am struggling with a security exception.
I have this code working brilliantly in WPF.
When using a website hosting a silverlight application with the same code, the user agent string of the HttpRequest obj...
I have a .NET 3.5 client/server socket interface using the asynchronous methods. The client connects to the server and the connection should remain open until the app terminates. The protocol consists of the following pattern:
send stx
receive ack
send data1
receive ack
send data2 (repeat 5-6 while more data)
receive ack
send etx

I need to execute a bunch of asynchronous methods (client SQLite database), and call only one final callback.
Of course, the ugly way is:
execAll : function(callBack) {
asynch1(function() {
asynch2(function() {
...
asynchN(function() {
callBack();
}...
I'm writing a wrapper class around a TcpClient which raises an event when data arrives. I'm using BeginRead and EndRead, but when the parent form handles the event, it's not running on the UI thread. I do I need to use delegates and pass the context into the callback? I thought that callbacks were a way to avoid this...

In the following, it is said that an I/O handle must be associated with the thread pool but i could not find where in the given example an handle is associated with the thread.
Which function or code helps to bind the file handle in that example?
Using asynchronous I/O completion events, a thread from the thread pool processes data o...
I want to make 10 asynchronous http requests at once and only process the results when all have completed and in a single callback function. I also do not want to block any threads using WaitAll (it is my understanding that WaitAll blocks until all are complete). I think I want to make a custom IAsyncResult which will handle multiple cal...
I have a jQuery application that loads data from five asynchronous server calls. I do not want to display any data until all five calls return. (I plan on displaying a Loading message until that happens.)
How can I detect when all five calls have returned? I considered having each callback method increment a variable (using jQuery's dat...
I am trying to reuse some .NET code that performs some calls to a data-access-layer type service. I have managed to package up both the input to the method and the output from the method, but unfortunately the service is called from inside code that I really don't want to rewrite in order to be asynchronous.
Unfortunately, the webservic...
I have form with file upload. The files to be uploaded actually are pictures and videos, so they can be quite big. I have logic which based on headers and first 1KB can determine if the rest will be processed or immediately rejected. In the later case I'd like to redirect client to error page without having to wait for upload to finish. ...
I'm looking for a way to do asynchronous and thread-safe logging in my C++ project, if possible to one file. I'm currently using cerr and clog for the task, but since they are synchronous, execution shortly pauses every time something is logged. It's a relatively graphics-heavy app, so this kind of thing is quite annoying.
The new logge...
in this sample, two threads created; a worker thread created by BeginInvoke and an I/O completion thread created by SendAsync method.
but another author in his UnsafeQueueNativeOverlapped example, don't recommend this.
i want to use SendAsync or ...Async in an asp.net page and i want to use PageAsyncTask.

I have a webservice method FetchNumber() that fetches a number from a database and then returns it to the caller. But just before it returns the number to the caller, it needs to send this number to another service so instantiates and runs the BackgroundWorker whose job is to send this number to another service.

I am learning how to use data binding in WPF for a TreeView. I am procedurally creating the Binding object, setting Source, Path, and Converter properties to point to my own classes. I can even go as far as setting IsAsync and I can see the GUI update asynchronously when I explore the tree. So far so good!
My problem is that WPF eage...
