I'm attempting to slap two or more annotations of the same type on a single element, in this case, a method. Here's the approximate code that I'm working with:
public class Dupe {
public @interface Foo {
String bar();
}
@Foo(bar="one")
@Foo(bar="two")
public void haha() {}
}
When compiling the above, javac c...

What is the most succinct way to create a directory called "Foo" underneath the current working directory of my Java application (if it does not already exist)?
Or, a slightly different angle: What is the Java equivalent of Directory.CreateDirectory("Foo") in .NET?

I'm sorry if the title is confusing but I couldn't think of anything similar to call it. What I'm looking for is if there is any sort of tool (or eclipse plugin, etc) that will log all the translated lines from a program. For example:
int b = 20;
for (int x = 0; x < z; x++)
b = b + 5;
Would get translated into
b = 20
for (int x = 0;...
I have the following project structure:

I have a weird problem, I need to parse a date string that looks like 1997-02-14T00:00:00.0000000+05:30. The odd thing about the date string is the time zone information. It's +05:30 instead of the usual +0530.
I have the basic format string ready, yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSSSSSZ which would have worked like a charm, if not for the TZ in...
The not-yet-commons SLL package for Java provides an OpenSSL object with a method for password based encryption:
encrypt("des", password, data);
This method is said to be compatible with the OpenSSL C library. My question is, what is the OpenSSL C++ method equivalent to the above Java?
Thanks

I probably sholdn't obsess about this too much, but my project has a very structured layout that I have become very fond of. Having that much structure has actually proven to be useful, this time, so I don't really want it to become messy again.

I'm using Java's java.util.date class in Scala and want to compare a date object and the current time. I know I can calculate the delta by using getTime():
(new java.util.Date()).getTime() - oldDate.getTime()
However, this just leaves me with a Long representing milliseconds. Is there any simpler, nicer way to get a time delta?

I am looking to sign a war file for distribution via Java Web Start.
As I understand it, the jar signer tool ignores the contents of the META-INF directory so that the signing process does not change the digest value of the jar file.
Will this same process work for a war file? I've never used a META-INF directory in the root of a war ...
We already have a good build server in Hudson but we want something that would let us startup and shutdown servers, push out new deployments of software (which is much more involved than just a single WAR or EAR going somewhere, there is copying, extracting, renaming, etc.), and various other tasks we would like to automate.

Having being taught during my C++ days about evils of the C-style cast operator I was pleased at first to find that in Java 5 java.lang.Class had acquired cast method.
I thought that finally we have an OO way of dealing with casting.
Turns out Class.cast is not the same as static_cast in C++. It is more like reinterpret_cast. It will...
