Hi,
I am looking for a way of programmatically testing a script written with the asyncore Python module. My test consists of launching the script in question -- if a TCP listen socket is opened, the test passes. Otherwise, if the script dies before getting to that point, the test fails.
The purpose of this is knowing if a nightly build...
Hello, I am trying to use RE to match a changing ID and extract it. I am having some bother getting it working. The String is:
m = 'Some Text That exists version 1.0.41.476 Fri Jun 4 16:50:56 EDT 2010'
The code I have tried so far is:
r = re.compile(r'(s*\s*)(\S+)')
m = m.match(r)
Can anyone help extract this string.

I'm trying to build numpy 1.2.1 as a module for a third-party python interpreter (custom-built, py2.4 linux x86_64) so that I can make calls to numpy from within it. Let's call this one interpreter A.
The thing is, the system-wide python interpreter (also py2.4, let's call it B) from the vendor is built with --enable-unicode=ucs4, while...

I'm implementing a weird thing, I have to write a utility to parse a syntax diagram in plain text format and convert it to xml format, the thing basically is identical as this from IBM(like in the "Creating a No-Conversion Job" part):

Hi folks,
just wondering if it would be possible in some experimental way, to edit django app code within django safely to then refresh the compiled files.
Would be great if someone has tried something similar already or has some ideas.
I would like to be able to edit small bits of code from a web interface, so I can easily maintain a...

I have a 64 bit RHEL host with 32 bit libraries installed. One vendor has a 32 bit .so I'd like to load into Python using ctypes.
from ctypes import CDLL
CDLL('32bitdinosaur.so')
OSError: 32bitdinosaur.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
Of course 64 bit libraries are OK. Eg:
CDLL('libc.so.6')
Works fine.

I cannot understand it. Very simple, and obvious functionality:
You have a code in any programming language, You run it. In this code You generate variables, than You save them (the values, names, namely everything) to a file, with one command. When it's saved You may open such a file in Your code also with simple command.
It works perf...
It looks like Google hasn't updated the results section since the Q4 2009 posting. I've been wondering when it will be put in the Python trunk, and if it's, in any way, production ready.
Also, "We aspire to do no original work" is in the Q4 plan. Did Google bite off more than what they could handle, or does anyone know what the real sto...

I have two models, a MainModel and a related InlineModel that i'd like to show as an inline in the admin. This InlineModel can be used for, say, making notes about the model and should track the logged in admin user making changes. While this seems simple (and indeed, the docs show an example for this when the user field is part of the M...
I have a series of lines that each need to be plotted with a separate colour. Each line is actually made up of several data sets (positive, negative regions etc.) and so I'd like to be able to create a generator that will feed one colour at a time across a spectrum, for example the gist_rainbow map shown here.

I've written a web crawler that I'd like to be able to stop via the keyboard. I don't want the program to die when I interrupt it; it needs to flush its data to disk first. I also don't want to catch KeyboardInterruptedException, because the persistent data could be in an inconsistent state.
