I am a software engineer who would love to "disconnect" from the "company store" so-to-speak.
This concept of Stack-Overflow is great...so, because I know that software engineers need coffee and food, how do you monetize this?
Just wondering.

Not a technical question, but related to IT.
At the moment I work in the open plan office and the guy next to me is talking to himself

I've been working for about a year in this start-up as a developer and in this time I've managed to get acquainted with the technologies we're working with. However, there's this one client that I've grown fond of over time and for which I've devoted my full attention and expertise when needed. The problem is my boss wants to expand the ...
A very simple question:
Does anybody know of any good references that scientifically prove the effects that listening to various types of music while coding might have on a developer?
Workplaces typically provide some sort of reference library to help their developers be more productive. Would it also be conducive to productivity if so...

Since I started my career as a programmer, I always tried to learn from my mistakes. I worked hard to learn best-practices and while I don't consider myself a C++ expert, I still believe I'm not a beginner either.
I was recently hired into a company for C++ development. There I...
