There are plenty of ways to provide a dynamic style/theme for a web site, but I am looking for some help on some best practices or techniques that have worked well for others.
I am creating a web site that needs to provide the ability for customers to create or specify their own colors, style, theme, or layout. I'm not convinced how mu...
I somehow got lumbered with deploying SharePoint at work. I hate it, even the simplest things seem to be unnecessarily difficult.
I've seen a few resources scattered around, but they all seem to stop short of helping me really take control of the css.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
EDIT
I'm not afraid of the css itself...
Hi, I have a web application that I need to modify so that it can be rebranded for different customers. I did the same thing with the windows version of the app using resource files and a #define. I have been reading up on resource files for aspx/C# but it seems that they are limited to localization. I'd like to do something like put ...
I have finished developing a quite useful small application. I would like to launch it, but I am not satisfied with it's name.
What techniques, websites do you recommend that can help a programmer construct a powerful, easy-to-remember application name?
For example:
Firefox is a very powerful name IMO, easy to remember, very visual. ...

Up to this point we have not yet needed a new masterpage for our SharePoint Site Definition. We have a theme that some of our customers will use depending on their corporate SharePoint branding.
Currently I change the 'SiteLogoUrl' in my 'FeatureReceiver' on the 'FeatureActivated' event using the following code.

I'm looking for a free/open source ecommerce product. Specifically what I need is multisite support that allows each site to be branded for the vendor. Basically, I have a brick and mortar business and I'd like to provide a service that allows people to have their own website that accesses my inventory. Sort of like CafePress.com but not...
I don't know if stackoverflow is the right place for this, but hopefully this is ok to ask. Has anyone here ever had their software packaged as a hard copy and distributed/sold that way? I'm just wondering if there are any options for getting nice packaging (professionaly printed cd sleeves, boxes, and documentation booklets) when you ar...
Cheers,
after seeing Stack Overflow's excellent implementation of OpenID, and after seeing what great job Google did with OpenID, I implemented it on a web app I'm working on. During my research I ran into Plaxo as another great RP.
Recently, Facebook added some rudimentary OpenID support. It's apparently used for completely different ...
We have emails that can be branded in a varierty of different ways but still contain the same content. Therefore, I need to be able to send HTML emails that contain CSS styling but are still compatible with the majority of email clients. Hi
I've created a custom master page in sharepoint that comes with a lot of images (say 200). How do I package all the files to be provisioned to the Style Library of a site collection? The only way I know to do this is through a feature but that means listing every single file (all 200 of them) as a <file></file> element. Is there a...
I've been asked to look into the development options for BlackBerry. My client wants to build an application that represents their brand. I realize that there are different techniques for doing development and the Java/J2ME approach is probably the most powerful.
Does anyone have experience with building branded applications, or have sc...
Is there any nice component for Joomla 1.0.x allowing to serve custom domains? What I am trying to archieve is to sell subscription to my service and to offer custom branding including custom urls like yourcompany.myservice.com and even example.myservice.com. Any pointers? I am selling subscriptions themselves already for a long time, so...
We use MOSS 2007 (SharePoint) for our intranet. Recently we were tasked with supporting the branding for multiple companies on our farm. We quickly realized that the application pages (produced by a modified application.master) can't serve up multiple branded templates (other than themes).
I think the right fix is to keep the default ...

I'm about to start writing a tool in .NET 2.0 (C#), and the tool needs to be re-brandable to be sold for use by other companies. We'll compile the tool in house, with other company's resources, so they don't get the source, just the generated output.
Since the re-branding will use the same default language, how do you manage multiple r...
