I use SCIM on Linux for Chinese and Japanese language input. Unfortunately, when I try to capture input using Perl's STDIN, the input is crazy. As roman characters are typed, SCIM tries to guess the correct final characters.
^H (backspace) codes are used to delete previously suggested chars on the command line. (As you type, SCIM tri...
I'm thinking about using Sphinx as a search engine for my site. But since I have a lot of Korean content, and other languages like Chinese and Thai may follow, I wonder how well Sphinx can handle this type of content.

Short story: I can't get an entity like '𠂉' to store in a MySQL database, either by using a text field in a Ruby on Rails app (with default UTF-8 encoding) or by inputting it directly with a MySQL GUI app.
As far as I can tell, all Chinese characters and radicals can be entered into the database without problem, but not these rarely typ...

I noticed that Chinese characters tend to be a bit smaller in my website than Roman characters.
I would like to know if there's a way of modifying them through CSS without touching Roman characters.
For instance, assigning font-size to only Chinese characters.

The idea: I'm just trying to save some Chinese characters to a MySQL database.
The issue: apparently, some save while others don't. I've tried to just put em in via phpMyAdmin, but when I try to save them, they turn out to be question marks "?".

I've found places on the web such as http://www.chinesetopinyin.com/ that convert Chinese characters to pinyin (romanization). Does anyone know how to do this, or have a database that can be parsed?
EDIT: I'm using C# but would actually prefer a database/flatfile.

How can I manage that?
Edit: I use google apps on my domain, for mail, blogging on subdomain, and redirecting to appengine. These 3 ...
Hello All.
I have a problem about the font in iphone/ipad
Everyone knows UILabel can't do rich text.
So I choose FrontLabel http://github.com/zynga/FontLabel/blob/master/README
I guess what FrontLabel is doing is something like NSAttributedString and core text framework, and also, it is quite low level. But anyway, I have a problem....
