Hi there,
my rails applications (all 2.3.5) use a total mix of inline javascript, rjs, prototype and jquery. Let's call it learning or growing pains. Lately i have been more and more infatuated with unobtrusive javascript. It makes your html clean, in the same way css cleaned it up.
But most examples i have seen are small examples, an...
So we're writing a full-text search framework MongoDb. MongoDB is pretty much javascript-native, so we wrote the javascript library first, and it works.

The Problem is that the views of each widget contain their own JS and CSS ...

My goal: each time a user selects text, and clicks a button, that text gets added to an array.
The problem: each time the button is pressed, the all objects of the array get overridden with the currently selected text.
I'd really appreciate help changing the behavior so that the selected text doesn't override all previous array items.
