I am struggling with the configuration for the scenario below.
I have a custom WCF/WIF STS (RP-STS) that provides security tokens to my WCF services
RP-STS is an "Active" STS
RP-STS acts as a claims transformation STS
RP-STS trusts tokens from many customer-specific identity provider STSes (IdP-STS)

I have an existing asp.net web application I am redesigning to use a service architecture. I have the beginnings of an WCF service which I am able to call and perform functions with no problems. As far as updating data, it all makes sense. For example, I have a button that says Submit Order, it sends the data to the service, which does t...
Hello everyone.
I'm trying to make a self hosted WCF app that uses nettcpbinding but works in an environment without a domain.
It's just two regular windows pc's, one is the server and the other one will be the client. The problem with this is that when I try to get the client to connect it's rejected because of the security settings.

I have a .NET 3.5 web app hosted on Windows Azure that exposes several WCF endpoints (both SOAP and REST). The endpoints typically receive 100x more data than they serve (lot of data is upload, much fewer is downloaded).
Hence, I am willing to take advantage from HTTP GZip compression but not from the server viewpoint, but rather from t...
What are the pros and cons of the following 2 cases:
Case I:
Traditional way:
Add service reference in project. Create object and Get data from service on server side and bind to asp.net grid.
Case II:
Update Service for JSON behavior. Add service reference in project. Call service from javascript to get data. Bind data to jquery gri...
Hi all,

So when I host my webservice on a ws2007FederationHttpBinding binding, will flash web applications be able to consume my service (after authenticating against a trusted STS ofcourse...) ?

I converted a VB .Net 3.5 app to use peer to peer WCF using the available Microsoft example of the Chat app. I made sure that I copied the app.config file for the sample(modified the names for my app), added the appropriate references. I followed all the tutorials and added the appropriate tags and structure in my app code. Everything ...
After deploying a WCF RESTful service that i created using the REST started kit, i got several errors that i managed to solve following this post:

Hi,
Let's say that I have created a WCF proxy from a WCF service (which is configured with wsHttpBinding) using Add Service (in Visual Studio 2008).
Later I want to use basicHttpBinding so I'll go and change the WCF service to use basicHttpBinding. But what about the WCF proxy? Can I just change this via Web.config or do I need to crea...
I have been using WCF for a few years now and am fairly comfortable with it, however there is one simple WCF concept that I have yet to employ and am having difficulties with it.
Following this article about WCF addressing as it specifically relates to multiple endpoints in IIS I see these two excerpts:
"Suppose you have a file named c...
Hi all, I have some simple forms in silverlight 4 using WCF RIA RC2 Domain Services.
All of my forms appear to be working great, I went with the traditional code behind for granular control and formatting.
The problem I am having is on one particular form the data isnt being updated unless I update one of the other fields.
Here is my...

Hello all,
I've been researching for a couple days on and off, and have yet to figure out the best way to achieve the following goal.
I would like to define either an interface or abstract class in C# which has an associated Run method, similar to the Java runnable interface. The goal would be to have a shared queue which contains a l...
I'm developing a win app in C# which communicates to a WCF Service. i have the following query:
select * from table where table.DateUpdated >='2010-05-03 08:31:13:000'

it returns all of the rows in the table - even though it should return none.
I am pretty sure this is because of some crappy date/t...

I am having a little trouble understanding ServiceKnownType in WCF.

I'm working on a Silverlight client that interacts with a WCF web service. The Silverlight client and the WCF web service are using the same class library for their data entities that they are passing back and forth over the wire. I just added a new entity, and it's not being correctly deserialized on the Silverlight client.
