I am using the JAX-WS "WebService" annotation on a class to expose its "WebMethod"s as a web service. The class is denoted as the servlet class handling calls to "/MyService".
As essentially a servlet, I would expect an instance of this class to be created once and to basically be a singleton. I have code in the constructor of this cl...

I attend in process of designing JEE web application. It consist of:
- backend module (EJB 3.0)

Our application must be secure, so some colleagues claim that it must be splitted into two or more separate servers - backend in one server, webapps in other(s). In our case performance isn't a problem but this architecu...

I've been having this memory leak issue for days and I think I have some clues now. The memory of my java process keeps growing but yet the heap does not increase. I was told that this is possible if I create many threads, because Java threads uses memory outside of the heap.
My java process is a server type program so there are 1000-20...
I am beginning to break apart a large JSP file into a some smaller JSP pages so I can reuse this across other areas of the site.
I can take the approach of leaving as a large Monolithic JSP file that takes params and adjusts it's behavior accordingly. The other approach I can take is breaking it apart so that it's called via jsp:i...
I want to take the data from a BytesMessage and pass is to a class that will de-serialize it. I'm running some tests to see if using Hessan for serialization is any better than Java Serialization.

I've been looking at Zookeeper recently and wondered whether anybody was using it currently and what they were specifically using it for storing.

I work on a social media monitoring system. We don't crawl the web ourselves, we get feeds from aggregators like Spinn3r. In most cases, the "blogs" that are nothing but pages of links to porn sites are filtered, but we'd like something in-house that we can train on a quicker time frame than waiting for upstream providers to make changes...
