Hi,
I'm trying to encrypt http requests using crypto++ and decrypt them with pycrypto on the app engine server end. Using Arc4 encryption, I can successfully encrypt and decrypt on the iphone end but when I try decrypting on app engine, the result is garbled. The ciphertext after encrypting on the client is the same as the text receive...
Hi all,
I'm writing for the iPhone and I'm trying to measure the time between maximum accelerations. Imagine you've attached your iPhone to an oscillating spring. What I want to do is measure the frequency of the oscillation. The way I am going about doing this is storing a certain number acceleration values (updated 20 times per sec...
I am creating an app with thumbnail views of my content. I would like to put a "delete" badge in the upper left corner of each thumbnail like the one you see either when deleting apps from the iphone/ipad home screen. It is typically a black circle with an 'X' inside.
Is this a badge or image file made available somehow through the SD...
Is it possible (even with a horrible kludge) to read the Mac's keyboard input while running an iPad app?
I'm making a level editor for a game I'm working on and it needs to run on the iPad simulator app, but I'd like to be able to read keys for quick short cuts. This app will never run on the iPad and will never be submitted to the ...
Ok, so here's my problem. My iPhone app is 1.2MB on disk. Granted I have a bunch of Images for the GUI buttons and backgrounds, etc. In-memory, my app takes up a whopping 15MB!
That means if I then take a picture with the camera, 8MB default, it gives a memory warning (several) even before the picker calls its delegate!
How can I te...
Does iPad or iPhone support OpenGL ES 2.0? How about iPhone os 4.0. Is this supported by the OS or the hardware?
And can anyone recommend some books on OpenGL ES development on iPad or iPhone?
Thanks!

Say I have two NSTimers in my iPhone app: timer1 and timer2. timer1 calls function1 30 times per second and timer2 calls function2 30 times per second. Assume these two functions are reading and updating the same integer variables. Are there any "multi-threading" issues here? If not how does iPhone OS handle the execution of the two...
I'm diving into iPhone development, so I apologize in advance if this is a ridiculous question, but in a new iPad app project using the Core Data framework, here's the generated code for creating the persistentStoreCoordinator...

So, I am able to create an array that populates the fields of the Table, but am having troubles creating the subtext that appears below the main fields. I currently have:

[super viewDidLoad];
listOfForms = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init];
[listOfForms addObject:@"First Form"];
}
and then:

Hi everyone,
I have a couple of static Phone/iPad libraries I an working on. The problem I am looking for advise on is the best way to package the libraries. My objective is to make it easy to use the libraries in other projects and include the correct one in a build with minimal problems.
To make it more interesting I currently build ...
Okay, so ultimately I want a program where the user can input simple data such as their name, date of birth, address, etc. and then have that information stay through multiple views. I am having the user input their information as UITextFields but their are multiple views that they are using to input the data. Is there a way that when ...
I've been digging around the net recently and noticed some video tutorials show an older template (pre SDK 3.2) with one OpenGL ES context. Now there are two of them, which, I've gleaned are the two versions of OpenGL ES available on the newer iMobile devices.
Can I just use the older one or do I need to do everything twice? How do I ...
I was reading a tutorial on how to do a UIPicker and found this code:
- (IBAction)buttonPressed {
NSInteger row = [userPicker selectedRowInComponent:0];
NSString *selected = [userPickerData objectAtIndex:row];
NSString *title = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"You selected %a", selected];
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] init...
Hello all
I was wondering how it's possible to find out if an image in the iPhone photo library is isotropic or anisotropic. Basically how many millimeters each pixel measures in height and in width.
In JPG images the information is hardcoded into the data stream so it's possible to do by simply pointing a const char* to the image fil...
is this possible? Given the app ID? Eg: com.mydoamin.myappname ?
Thanks.

I am working on my first iPhone application and I've hit a wall. I'm trying to develop a 'statistics' page for a three entity relationship. My entities are the following:
Department - Name, Address, Building, etc.
People - Name, Gender (BOOL), Phone, etc
If I have fetched a specific department how do I filter those results and only ret...
Before describing the problem, let me first point out that this is a distinct issue from this question.
The Problem
This screenshot was taken with a break set at tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath:, and as you can see in the simulator (far right of the image), there's a single-pixel blue line at the bottom of the selected cell. This is ...
Is there a way to remember what the user put into a UITextField and have it displayed the next time they come to that UITextField? i.e. - have them input their name the first time they come to the "Name" UITextField but have that name already displayed in that field the next time they come across that UITextField?
I want the name to st...
I'm adding some user feedback mechanism into my app. The user types some comments into a text field and when that editing is done it updates a UITextView. Then when the user hits the submit button and moves on in the app the user may have need to send more feedback from the same form for a different item. I can reset the other fields ...
