I want to reduce the number of bytes of an image captured by the device, since i believe the _imageScaledToSize does not reduce the number of bytes of the picture (or does it?) - i want to store a thumbnail of the image in a local dictionary object and can't afford to put full size images in the dictionary. Any idea?

Hi there,
I am having a really odd problem with Flash CS4. I have a MovieClip with the dimensions 652x400. When I create a motion tween for the layer containing the clip, and move the playhead to the last frame of the tween, I check the dimensions of the same MovieClip, and it's been changed to 660x408, regardless of the fact that I hav...
I have a Gtk.TextView control, and I'm inserting child widgets into it. I'd like to be able to have the children resize to fit the width of the TextView when the form is resized. Is there a built-in way to do this? If not, can anyone suggest a good way of writing my own?

See the title. This should be really easy, but i don't quite see how to actually do it.
(Update) I'm not subclassing the control. Trying to trigger the event via Control.Size = Control.Size fails, since it does not trigger then even unless the new size is actually different.

Hi, I'm trying to create a resizable div without using jQuery's interface library.
var myY = 0;
var mouseDown = false;
var originalHeight = 0;
function resize(e){
if(mouseDown == true){
$("#cooldiv").height(originalHeight+e.pageY-myY);
}
}
$(document).ready(function(){
$().mouseup(function(e){
myY = 0;

I have some old Java 2D code I want to reuse, but was wondering, is this the best way to get the highest quality images?
public static BufferedImage getScaled(BufferedImage imgSrc, Dimension dim) {
// This code ensures that all the pixels in the image are loaded.
Image scaled = imgSrc.getScaledInstance(
dim.width, dim.height, ...
I have an image of arbitrary size on the page. As an output I need an image of a fixed size, say 90x120px. I would like the user to chose the area of the image by drag-and-dropping the big image behind the 90x120px 'window'. The window would specify the resulting image. Something like this is implemented at facebook image upload.

I've been bashing my head against this to no avail.
I need to shrink some large PDFs to print on an 8.5x11 inch (standard letter) page. Can imagemagick/ghostscript handle this sort of thing, or am I having so much trouble because I'm using the wrong tool for the job?
Just relying on the 'shrink to page' option in client-side print dial...
I am relatively new in the WPF world and one thing I immediately noticed is how laggy the window content is drawn when you resize a window. For example if you have scrollbars at the window edges those scrollbars will be partly hidden while shrinking and have space between them and the window border when enlarging.
This even happens with...
I have a page with iframe. Content inside iframe does window.parent.resizeTo calls (or something similar that in result resizes whole browser window). It does so to accomodate for its contents. I want to prevent resizing of whole browser window and just change the size of iframe element instead.
Is there a way to intercept these resize...
I'm using the asp.net charting control, and liking it for the most part. However, I would like my charts to size with the panels they are contained in. I cannot set the width of the chart to 100%, I have to give them an exact size. I don't want to stretch and distort the rendered chart image.
Does anyone have an example of how I might...
My source images are 2288px x 1712px and 816kb. When I create a thumbnail of 1024 x 768 the file sizes are more than double the high res source (1.13mb - 1.8mb depending on method used).
The source images and thumbnails created are .jpg
Even creating a 299 x 224 thumbnail is 180kb where as if I manually create a thumbnail in GIMP it is...

I'm making a form which, much like the standard MessageBox, has a single label on it and should grow horizontally and vertically if the text on the label grows. Horizontal seems easy enough, by setting AutoSize = true on the label and the form. However, I also want to make the label grow vertically, ie if it has newl...
As the question says... I can set the layout etc. up to resize with the window, but I've not worked out how to make the fonts resize.
(Actually it might be the JLabel components themselves that aren't resizing, and constraining the fonts...)

I have a SW that the minimal screen size requirement is 1024x768, 800x600 may be too small, 1024x768 would be too big? Maybe something in between? What screen size is better or the best? Thanks.

Hi!
How I can zoom in a bitmap on Compact Framework? I read this article and http://geeks.netindonesia.net/blogs/clawford/archive/2008/04/20/resizing-bitmap-tutorial-in-net-cf.aspx and it's only to make the bitmap smaller.
Thank you!

I add a PickerView to one of my views in an app, but its size is too small(in height). I find that I cannot drag to make it "longer". How to change its size then?

No matter what I set them to my DIVs I use for buttons don't resize. I'm uploading the correct file, and it has the change on the server, but nothing is happening no matter how much I refresh. I'll delete the URL so this can't be used as advertising once I get an answer.
